Taking care of your smile doesn’t have to be a chore! There are plenty of simple things you can do that can help boost your dental health. If you’re looking for easy ways to keep your smile looking and feeling its best, try incorporating these habits into your daily routine.

Drink More Water

This one’s a really easy one! Drinking more water is good for you in a number of ways, and one of them is that it boosts your oral health. For starters, it helps with saliva production, which is a way your mouth protects your teeth from decay, and saves you from having a dry mouth, which in addition to increasing risk for tooth decay can also cause bad breath.

Remember to Floss

If you’re not already flossing on a daily basis, it’s time to start. Flossing isn’t a replacement for brushing your teeth but it’s an important component of a healthy dental routine. By flossing your teeth at least once a day, you’re making sure those stubborn pieces of food debris and plaque don’t get to settle on and around your teeth.

Use Fluoride Toothpaste

When choosing toothpaste, opt for one with fluoride in it. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps to strengthen your teeth enamel. And strong enamel is a line of defense against the formation of cavities!

Brush Your Tongue

Many people focus solely on their teeth when they’re brushing, but don’t forget about the tongue. The tongue can harbor bad bacteria that leads to a foul odor and can contribute to other health issues like periodontal disease, also called gum disease.
